Cliff Russell appeared on stage as the thousands at Augustfest '05 greet him with a standing ovation. Cliff's brother, FDNY firefighter Stephen P. Russell , was lost to us on September 11th in the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Cliff wore his brother turn-out gear and searched for his brother until his body was recovered in October 2001. Cliff and the firefighters of Engine 55 remain heroes of Joe. Commenting on the above photo, Joe said, "I didn't want to let Cliff leave, I have missed him so much." Mike Moses (background) joins the crowd in the standing ovation. |
